Molecular Movies 2 is the perfect multimedia software for organic chemistry teaching on the high school or introductory university level. The program is built around nine reaction "movies" each one explaining a common organic reaction using high-quality, animated 3D-graphics and suitable sound effects. The movies can be started, stopped, forward-stepped, back-stepped, and have adjustable playback speed. In addition, and this is unique compared to similar available software, most features of the movies can be clicked upon, clicking leads to an explanation window in the "electronic textbook" section of the program. This "Infowin" section contains altogether more than seventy hyperlinked text/graphic windows, covering many different aspects of elementary organic chemistry. Together, these features make Molecular Movies 2 a very efficient complement to textbook material. The following reactions are covered:

Molecular Movies 2 is available for Mac and Windows platforms. The current version (2.01) is a recent upgrade that has been optimized for Mac OS X/Windows 7. Presently, English, Swedish and German language versions are available.

Minimum system requirements for Molecular Movies 2:

Mac: Intel processor, color monitor with a resolution of 640 x 480 or better and a color depth of 16 bits (thousands of colors) or better. Operative system: Mac OS 10.7 or higher. Versions for older Mac's (with Power PC processors, OS 10.1-10.6, or OS 7.6 to 9.2) can also be provided on request.
